Nicole&Tony . Cape May, NJ

This past weekend I was not only the floral designer for a beautiful wedding, but a guest as well!  My daughters long time best friend Nicole married her college sweetheart, Tony.  So this wedding was particularly exciting for me to work on.  The wedding, which took place on the lawn of the grand Congress Hall in Cape May, had a feeling of 1920’s vintage seaside holiday.  Victorian era architecture, lace, yellow striped cabanas along the beach… it made for a beautiful late September setting and wonderful aesthetic platform for me to work from.

Nicole and Tony came with a few ideas they wanted to stick to… wine colors, succulents, soft bluish greenery.  They were also working within a budget.  From here I met with them and discussed flowers that would be in season, would be large enough for lots of impact and would stand the test of a trip down from Albany to south Jersey.  Dahlias, Hydrangea and an array of Roses were the final result.  I additionally incorporated seeded Eucalyptus for that blue/green they were looking for and a few small flowers for depth and dimension.

The photos below are only what I had taken during the ceremony.  I’m looking forward to receiving some professional photos that hopefully showcase the centerpieces, cocktail tables and wedding cake which I helped to decorate as well.

Congratulations again to Nicole and Tony… it was a truly magical day!
